Spire for SBT, ACCPAC and Sage Pro Users – The Small Things Are Not So Small

Twice a week, give or take, I get a call or email from an SBT (or ACCPAC Pro or Sage Pro) user asking for “a small thing.”

  • “I need longer inventory descriptions. And they need to print on bids, orders, invoices and purchase orders. Can you do this?”
  • “I sell to customers overseas and need an extra address line.”
  • “My supplier sends me new prices each quarter in an Excel sheet. I want to update my costs and prices and I do not want to key them in by hand. Can you import the new price list?
  • “I want to store images of my inventory in SBT (or ACCPAC or Sage Pro) and print them on invoices and picking lists.”
  • “I want to send Christmas cards to all of my customers who bought something from me in the past two years. Can you pull that mailing list for me with year-to-date sales?”
  • “I like the SBT Sales Analysis report, but I want a summary version and, also, I want to export the results to Excel. Can you do that Matt?”

I can do all these things (for a small fee) and I do them when asked. These types of small enhancements and services add up and comprise a significant part of my business. These small things extend the functional life of your software and I will do them if you ask. But wouldn’t it be better if the software did these things without my help?

Spire does quite a bit ‘out of the box,’ much more than your old SBT. Most of the small things you ask me to do in SBT, Spire does without expert help. Each of the small things jobs listed above can be done in Spire without my assistance.

The big things that set Spire apart from SBT – the things I have described in earlier emails – are important. By themselves, the big things are sufficient reason to upgrade to Spire. But the small things — included in Spire at no additional cost — add big value to your business. The small things are a very big reason I like Spire for users of old SBT VisionPoint, Pro, ACCPAC Pro and Sage Pro ERP.
